About The Author
Joshua Bitzkie is a soldier, farmer, father, and teacher who lives with his family in Texas. He has always loved reading stories to his children but found it difficult to find books that both captured their imagination and clearly pointed them to the truth of God’s Word.One day, while doing farm chores with his three-year-old daughter, she asked if they could see a woodpecker. Josh used a bird call, and within minutes two red-bellied woodpeckers began flying overhead. As they watched the birds God had made, his daughter began asking questions about the woods around them and which direction they should go.That simple moment became the inspiration for The Lost Woodpecker, the first story in a growing collection of Christ-centered children’s books designed to help families teach young hearts about God, His creation, and His truth.
